WRITTEN REPORT (Meeting 11)



Title                     : Using Communicative Games in Improving Students’ Speaking Skills
Presented by         : Hana Muslimah
Gap                            Gap                       : This research focuses on the communicative games that have an influence in students’ speaking skills. As we know that students’ always get bored if they are learning speaking. So this is one of the solution to make the students interested.
The result shows that the study revealed that using communicative game as means of instruction improved the students’ achievement and results of speaking skill. Students enjoyed their lesson and got more motivation, interest and confidence through their learning.
Title of your research     : Vocabulary Recollection Through Games
Rationale                         : As we know that using game in vocabulary is the mainstream way to improve students’ skills. Every students will like the game because it will not boring to them. A game is an organized activity that usually has the following properties: a particular task or objective, a set of rules, competition between players, and communication between players by spoken or written language (Richards, Platt, and Platt, 1992, p. 153). Game is also defined as an “activity with rules, a goal, and an element of fun” (Hadfield, 1990, p.v).
There also many kinds of games, and the game that I want to use is matching game. Why? Because with matching game, the students will concentrate and will remember for a long time. Besides, that also can improve students’ skill in vocabularies.
