Newsworthy event (Main event)	1.    Zayn Malik has defended his girlfriend Gigi Hadid in a single tweet after her sister Bella posted a Snapchat video of her.
	2.    A Hollywood screenwriter and producer has accused Disney of copying the idea for its Oscar-winning animation Zootopia from him.
	3.    James Corden has defended fellow US talk show host Jimmy Fallon over his interview with Donald Trump.
Background event (Elaboration)	1.     In it, Gigi holds up a Buddha-shaped cookie, squints her eyes and smiles. Bella has since deleted it after fans called the model racist against Asians. But it's still been widely shared online.
	2.    Gary Goldman, whose credits include Total Recall and Minority Report, is suing the firm and says elements of the film are based on his work. He claims Disney copied themes, settings, plot, characters and dialogue and the title of his Zootopia concept.
	3.    Fallon had been criticised for failing to ask tough questions when the presidential candidate appeared on The Tonight Show in September. Instead, Fallon did a light-hearted interview during which he ruffled Mr Trump's hair.

Newsworthy event (Main event)	1.    Apple has launched a red version of its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus as well as a new video app for iOS.
	2.    A ban on laptops and tablets in cabin baggage on flights from Turkey and some countries in the Middle East and North Africa to the US and UK has come into effect.
	3.    Two street dogs in the south Indian city of Chennai (Madras) have become the unlikely heroes of a stabbing incident after helping apprehend the perpetrator.
Background event (Elaboration)	1.    The red iPhone celebrates Apple's 10-year partnership with Red, an organization that aims to combat Aids. A video app for iOS, called Clips, has also been revealed and will be released with iOS 10.3, which is expected to launch soon.
	2.    Officials say devices "larger than a smartphone" must travel in the hold because of an increased risk that they could contain explosives. At least one airline is allowing devices to be used up until boarding
	3.    The two chased down and bit a man accused of stabbing one of his former colleagues on the roadside in what police describe as a "revenge attack". Locals were then able to catch the man, identified as R Raghunath.

Newsworthy event (Main event)	1.    The Indonesian government stopped importing beef and chicken from Brazil because of the quality prior to the finding of uneatable meat that was exported from Brazil to a number of countries, an official said.
	2.    The Trade Ministry has announced that meat stocks have been secured up to the fasting month of Ramadhan in May, thanks to buffalo meat imports from India.
	3.    After four days of flooding, overflowing rivers in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau, have paralyzed daily activities in several areas.
Background event (Elaboration)	1.    “We do not import meat [from Brazil]. I have also stopped [meat imports] from Malaysia,” Agriculture Ministry’s livestock and animal health director general, I ketut Diarmita, said as reported by tempo.co on Thursday. He said several countries had stopped importing meat from Brazil, following the incident.
	2.    Buffalo meat stocks now had reached 70,000 tons, while frozen beef stocks were between 60,000 and 70,000 tons, said Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukito, adding that the government would increase stocks based on demand.
	3.    The regency’s education agency recorded that 19 schools had told students to remain at home to stay safe.

	2.    Kylie Jenner has been criticised by campaigners and fans for smoking in a new photo shoot.
	3.    Model Caitin Stickels has a condition known as cat eye syndrome which causes her pain, but is not holding her back.
Background event (Elaboration)	1.    She beat off competition from her sister Bella and best friend Kendall Jenner at the ceremony in London.
	2.    She posted two black and white photos on Instagram where she posed topless and appears to be smoking a rolled cigarette.

Newsworthy event (Main event)	1.    The new Disney/Pixar film Cars 3 will premiere at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
	2.    Forty-four divers cleaned up the underwater area around Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa, two of the most popular destinations for snorkeling and watersports in Bali.
	3.    Channel 4's ambitious reality show Eden has come to an end, eight months after the most recent episode was shown.
Background event (Elaboration)	1.    Story supervisor, Scott Morse, will be at the screening on Sunday 25 June at the Festival Theatre. Mr Morse will also be at two school screenings at Cineworld Edinburgh on 26 June.
	2.    The divers from the Nusa Dua Reef Foundation (NDRF), divers associations and watersports operators collected 25 sacks of plastic and other non-organic trash from the area, which is rich in species of coral and fish.
	3.    In March 2016, 23 volunteers moved to the Scottish Highlands to "start again". Only four episodes of the show were ever broadcast in July and August last year, but the cast have only now come home.

Anti-cement plant rally goes on after farmer’s death. Following Tuesday’s death of a farmer demonstrator, about 100 NGO activists joined the Central Java farmers’ protest across from the State Palace on Wednesday, protesting a cement factory that they deem as endangering the villagers’ livelihood. The activists replaced hundreds of farmers who had held a daily rally since March 13.  The farmers went back to their home villages to bury their community member, Patmi, who died of heart attack early Tuesday.
